I knew about ten minutes of film were cut from The King and the Clown. What I did not know is that that includes a scene (and oh my god WHY wasn't it in the movie) in which Jang-sang MOUNTS Kong-gil.

THUD.

Forget the kiss with the king (which was so clumsily unerotic that the editor snapped away from it as fast as he could), this is where the money's at. Dayum.

That will be all.

Yeah! And I totally caught the differenc in translation myself! (And yes, it is retardedly basic grammar and vocabulary, but it still felt good.)

I would TRULY HIGHLY UTTERLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE ANY MEASURES TO WATCH THIS MOVE NOW. It has completely overtaken my life since I saw it three weeks ago, and I am once again a prolific writer thanks to it.

There will be a huge lj squeeage post coming up shortly, but the long and the short of it is that it's a damn good movie with stellar chemistry between all the leads and I would have adored it even if it hadn't hit my kinks.

I totally get you on the foreign language yay! moment. I get really happy when I can understand completely basic sentences in Japanese.

So. Uh. The movie... Okay to watch with Mom...? :coughcough: Because technically, I can walk down the block and rent the video and it will be one of the few Korean things I'd be partaking in.... :sweatdrop:

Speaking of Korean movies: Have you heard of Three Iron? (I don't know the Korean title) A friend watched it and she's been raving; minimal dialogue, very strange and cute.

Pros: All-around excellent movie with great chemistry between the entire cast, good pacing, gorgeous visuals and good direction.

As for the 'cons'...it's hard to say. The subtext is handled very well; it's objective and never sensational. The whole tone of the movie is frank and bawdy, so it's not as obvious as it could be. I guess it depends on how your parents react to ribald humor in general.

I guess you could always watch and act surprised...I didn't know it involved that.

Not heard of Three Iron, but do tell. I'm always into more listening practice fodder.

Oh yeah, and it obviously goes without saying that this is coming from someone relying 99% on subtitles. I've heard that the repartee is even better in the raw, but obviously can't judge for myself.
