In which I grumble at flickr

Okay, it really sucked when you decided the day after I signed up that I needed to have a yahoo ID in order to keep using your services. I don't want my pictures associated with my email address. But I was willing to overlook that because everyone I know who's abroad and taking intersting photographs uses your services.

Strike number two came when I realised you'd only let me view the most recent 200 pictures I'd uploaded to your servers. But I also want all of my friends to see all of my pictures. So I sucked it up and decided to shell out the ten bucks or whatever for a pro account.

Only to discover that a pro account actually costs $24.95, and locks out all but the most recent uploads if it expires. But never fear, for as the massively overwrought splash graphic informs me: You can get a 2 year account for just $47.99 and that's even less per month!

...Holy SHIT! You mean if I purchase your vastly overpriced services for two years, I can save a whole $1.91!?!?!?

Holy smokes! That's cheap! Bite me, flickr.

Don't worry. I fully plan to share the pics once I get them all hosted.

flickr is annoying me too, but I have yet to find a better program. Photobucket, but they resize the photos. There's the option of things like streamload so you can put everything into a file and have people dl... but that defeats the purpose of just having all the photos out for free perusal.

... darn. I wonder how Google's Picasa thing is working out?
