...what with the truly prodigious amount of mucus I've been expelling through various orifices this past day and a half. We're talking amounts perhaps equal to my body weight. It ain't fun. At any rate, I'm not up to much besides sleeping at the moment, so I leave you with school lunch:
Yesterday's green blobs

No one's quite sure what they were, or even what they were supposed to taste like.
Today's firefly squid

Someday I'll bring my real camera to work so you can see these at a resolution above 1.2 megapixels. You will begin to notice how all school lunches look eerily the same.
And a closeup of the above

Roughly life sized. The eyes go crunch when you eat them. These things aren't so bad at enkais when you're drunk, and the chef's removed the eyeballs and internal organs and replaced them with spicy mustard. Needless to say, none of these conditions apply during school lunch.
That will be all.

on 2005-05-21 09:19 am (UTC)No one knows what the blobs are - that's what makes it so disturbing. When questioned directly, the sensei in charge of lunch replied, "It's a secret." Theories included some sort of green tea or spinach coating, but it didn't taste like green tea or spinach.
And if you thought the squid were bad, just wait until I get photos of Squid Body Day.
