I woke up at some point last week to discover that I'd been put in charge of chairing a meeting for incoming teachers. No problem. There's over a month to go, there are going to be several planning meetings, and it'll be nice to have something to do, and I do appreciate being picked to handle the responsibility by...whoever picked me.
The first planning meeting was supposed to be this Friday.
Yesterday, it was changed to today, at 2pm, causing me to cancel three afternoon classes. Said classes were rescheduled for tomorrow. No problem.
My supervisor approaches me at 9:45 this morning to tell me that I'm going to be teaching three classes with her this afternoon, as well as three more tomorrow and several the day after.
"I can't," I tell her. "I have a meeting at two today."
"What meeting?" she snaps. "You don't have a meeting."
Bitch, please. Yes I do, and if you spent any time checking in with the head of the English department, you'd know that.
So I explain the meeting to her, only to be bitched out for not making a fucking schedule.
Now, I could have mentioned that the meeting had been changed less than 24 hours ago so I wasn't that prepared myself, and that I'd had to reschedule classes already, and what the hell are you doing getting upset about me not being available if you've only given me four hours' notice that I'm to teach classes?
I could have mentioned that, but what would be the point, really? So I let her bitch at me in Japanese for a bit. Hope she feels better.
But now, let's take a little look at this schedule phenomenon, shall we?
Number of my scheduled classes in June: 100
Number of those classes which I actually taught: 41
Number of classes taught during the time they were scheduled: 17
So yeah, don't bitch to me about my schedule when I can't even get you to stick to it. ad;adiofodaidfldkdfkadfua!!!!!11+1=12
In other news, I am moving to my new digs on the 24th. I am muy excited about this, except I wish someone would tell me how I'm supposed to move. The VP told me to discuss it with my supervisor today, which is not going to happen after her little assault.
I know I'm going to have to dump a lot of my furniture; I don't think my bed, for instance, will fit through my old apartment's doors, let alone the rooms in my new place.
In good, good news, I'll have unrestricted roof access to the new building, which means plants, sunbathing, and an awesome location to watch the Tanabata fireworks in a month.
That will be all.
