Guess who's getting a brand-spaking-new apartment!!!!!!! I just went and checked it out today and it's sweet.
Still no elevators, but it's on the third (not fourth) floor. It's clean, bright, and across from the main city park, so it should be quiet. It's only 1/5 the size of my current apartment, but I get two tatami rooms and my balcony has a roof over it (which will make drying clothing that much easier). It's on the main rode to the gym and a two minute walk from the bar district.
It isn't as close to my workplace as my current apartment, but it'll only take another 3-5 minutes to get there. And once I start going back to Komadori every Friday, I'll be a good deal closer to that workplace.
It does not come equipped with any of the following: washer, dryer, refrigerator, or stove. This is the only hitch - I'm not sure if the ones currently in my apartment belong to me, the city, or my landlord. Even so, I wouldn't mind buying new ones. The sucky thing about the washer is that it'll have to go on my balcony, and I'm not sure if I could even get the door open in that case.
Oh, and I can't keep my bed anymore. I'm not sure it'd be good to have on the tatami, and it's about the size of the room I'd be putting it in anyway. Which is okay, because 1) it's old, and 2) I like sleeping on futon.
Take that, current landlords! I won't be subjected to your suckiness much longer!
