We did nametags today. This normally wouldn't be a problem, except that I'm not Japanese, and my teacher doesn't know any English. I now proudly possess a nametag with a Korean transliteration of my English name (which most native speakers don't pronounce correctly) filtered through how the Japanese think one should pronounce it. So, like, since you know how my name's supposed to sound, how would you do it?
Foreign language acquisition: it's like telephone, in a way.
