A friend started pre-dating a cute Japanese guy last week. This kid is a real sweetie, very atypical for a Japanese guy. I like hanging out with the both of them. He calls me one or two times a day.

Typical conversation:
-Hey, it's Daiji. Are you busy?
-Nope.
-Hey, great. Listen, I need to tell [friend's name] about [naninaninani]. But her Japanese is not so good, and my English is also not so good. Can you do me the favor of calling her and letting her know?
-Yeah, sure, no problem.
-Okay, that really helps. Thanks, and one other thing. There's an ikebana exhibition in the prefecture capital this weekend. Do you want to go? I already told [friend's name] about it. She might have said she understood me, but I couldn't tell for sure. And I don't think she understood so well. So can you tell her? Also, invite anyone you feel like.
-Ikebana? That's cool. Sure, I'll go. I'll give her a call in a few and make sure she understood too.
-Hey, thanks. Well, bai-bai.
-Bai-bai.
-Bai-bai.
-Bai-bai.
-Bai-bai. (repeat ad naseum until one of us cuts the connection)

Alls I'm saying is that I better get to date one of his cute friends!
