Disaster Narrowly Averted
Feb. 17th, 2004 09:44 pmI've been gradually playing in my new baby flute. The balance is still rather uncomfortable for my left hand, but it's got gorgeous tone and I can just breathe songs out of it. I <3 it to death.
So imagine my dismay when I went to disassemble it two days ago and found that the joints had swollen to the point where they wouldn't detach. Given the fact that this flute lives in my apartment, in which water freezes to ice during the night and my time at work, and then thaws when I return and put on the heater, I could just picture it cracking from headjoint to footjoint
So it's been sitting under my kotatsu for the past two days, while I prayed that fate would be merciful. And fate was, as I managed to unstick it today. Now, my electric bill on the other hand...
