Sad story - a week ago my roommate says to me, "so what are your birthday plans?" to which i responded, "i dunno, that's a ways away." to which she responded, "fire, it's in 5 days."

and that is how someone else reminded me about my birthday, which i had completely forgotten.

anyhoo, have gotten several calls today, from my sis, my friend liz, and summer, who's voice i didn't immediately recognize. :-) aside from that, i have immersed myself in z-scores and hypothesis testing. yummy. but, as a reward, i get to see margaret cho later tonight. let me tell you how much i'm looking forward to that!

in other related good news, i managed to remove my car from the block of ice in which it had been landlocked for over a week. this means that i now have transportation to the places where i can purchase dishwasher detergent, daikon, and toilet paper.

erm, summer's just walked in w/ a bunch of balloons and a present for me:-) /me is very happy. so, i'm going to sign off now.

Oh, do! And yes I still have that picture. It's hanging up in my bedroom; it was a very happy picture.
