1) Y: the Last Man, Girl on Girl - Brian K. Vaughan
Despite some inventive moments, the further I progress in this series the more I realise it's little more than sexploitation clumsily masquerading as "daring" social commentary. This isn't to suggest that lesbians, THO, or violence would cease to exist in a world without men, but here's the catch: They sure wouldn't exist in the sensationalised, gratuitous manner in which Vaughan portrays them. In other words, they exist in
this series as fan service for a certain subset of Vaughan's readership, which is fine. This reader, however, prefers porn with the balls to acknowledge that it's porn instead of pretending to say something astute about the human condition.
