my dougi. I appear to have joined the uni's karate circle. In fact, I appear to have joined the uni's no-holds-barred, no-poking-out-they-eyes-but-otherwise-anything-goes karate circle. Erm.

As one might imagine, there are not a lot of petite, ducktoed brand-name-fashion-obssessed Japanese girls in this circle. This means I am usually paired off with guys. I wowed one of them the other day by being able to do 200 consecutive middle and high kicks.

Also, the dougi? Has some really spectacular Engrish.

Neat. By some weird coincidence, last night we went to a lecture given by Jamie Leon Zimron, one of the co-founders of the Middle East Aikido Project. Awesome!

That *is* awesome! Not in the least because I <333 aikido with much <3333ing, and would be practicing aikido here were it a circle and not a club. (The club meets for like two hours every freaking day, so there's no way I could participate.)

So how come there are no new posts from you guys? You're obviously online since your commenting on my lj...

No time to post. Even though finals aren't until the first week of May, our final exam and three papers are due next week. We'll be posting more after that. Especially about tonight's lecture from Sandra Day O'Conner.
