my new boombox. I had intended that today's picture be of Chen Kaige, whom I went to see speak on the 12th at the uni's screening of his newest film, but of course I had to forget my camera.
So, instead, the boombox. It was given to me by a friend and I am in *love* with it. It's old and kinda beat around the edges, but it still sounds great--at least compared to my wussly laptop speakers (which were the only way I could listen to music until the 12th). I listen to a lot of music-lovers' music, so it's great to actually be able to hear those bass lows and treble highs again.
Incidentally, that little indentation in the center panel is not a cassette player but a minidisc player, which is perfect for me because I invested hundreds of dollars in minidisc technology before mp3s jossed it like DVDs did the laser disc.
