today's shopping! Or at least the clothing portion. There's a little "outlet" down the street from my apartment. It's really just a garage with some clothing racks in it, but they've got some pretty good stuff that actually fits my troublesome gaijin frame, and the owners are very pleasant to me.
In this pile we have four skirts, a camisole, a top, and some kickass goth(ish) pants. The entire package cost me $22.
Which freed up a lot of money for grocery shopping. Yes, it occurred to me earlier this week that I can now carry large amounts of food home at once (I have a bike) and that I can now not only keep food cold, I can freeze it and keep it indefinitely (my fridge has made a remarkable recovery.) So I made a few trips to one of the two co-ops I've joined in the city and got $100 worth of groceries, much of it half priced, all of it at 5x the points. I am now well stocked on bread, jam, and chicken. I'm considering going back tomorrow (the last day for the 5x deal) to get rice, beer, cereal, and cleaning supplies.
What can I say? I was in a buying mode. But I think I did pretty damn well for the amount of money spent. And more importantly, I DID NOT WALK AWAY WITH A SINGLE BOOK.
That will be all.

on 2009-04-08 02:25 am (UTC)Maybe I can just drink my lack of new book acquisitions away? Seriously, I've really had to avoid taking my bike down to the shopping district, just to look. Because you know what happens when you head to a bookstore "just to look..."
