this decal, which is posted outside my apartment door. I'd never really looked at it until today, and now that I have I'm not sure whether I should be relieved or worried that there is apparently a need for such a decal in the first place.
For those of you who don't read Japanese, the decal was put in place by the management company's Privacy Security Center, and it is there to reassure me that my apartment has been inspected for bugs and hidden cameras. (Or, if you want to get literal, that my apartment is "wiretapă»spy camera inspection completed" which sounds rather alarmingly vague in English.)
What is alarming no matter which way you cut it is the date: May 11th of Year Nineteen of the Heisei Emperor's reign. In other words, 5/11/2007--almost two years ago.
To whomever might have been watching: I hope you're enjoying the show.
