I am very, very concerned...

...by the fact that I can only transfer pictures from my digital camera to my hard drive while my computer is connected to the Internet. Unconnected, it refuses to recognise the camera.

Which indicates that somebody somewhere thinks they deserve to be notified whenever I download pictures.

I am not pleased by this.

first off: How did you install the software for your camera? via CD? DVD? o you had to download the installer from its web page?
Maybe you can start a google search with the model of your digital camera and the words working/downloading pics off line/without connection?

I installed it via CD, but I was connected to the net at the time, so I'm not sure if that had any connection. And yes, a google search will be conducted shortly^^

It would be really wierd to see anyone we went to school with in a naked internet situation. Not so wierd that I wouldn't have a copy or three in my pocket at the reunion, but still wierd. (I'll have to do something to feel superior.)

yeah, I just had a brief flash of some examples. ehhhh. Hell, there are people I've seen naked that I wish I could take back. And half the fun for me would be to create a "how the mighty have fallen" moment and embarrass the holy hell out of snotty people. But the likely event would be the disgusting and proud, and then I'm an asshole for group mind rape.

I agree. They show commercials for the penthouse channel on our cable at night(actually after about 10 pm 2/3s of the commercials are for either porn or call a whore services) and almost all the girls they show have faces you could open a letter with.

I admit to being far from innocent on the porn star/sex symbol front, but I'm fairly sure I'm still outside the box so to speak when it comes to naked girls. Like I know a lot of guys who probably spank it to the new Britney video cause she's all naked, and all I think is "Wow, there's more CGI in this video than the last Star Wars movie." I may have no control over what my hormones react to, but I figure I can set a standard for where my mind takes over.

I actually like real women more. Have I told you about my twenty first birthday? My friend James took me to the Muncie strip clubs, and one of the girls sat with us because he was a regular. She was a sweetheart. she had a little boy, and was really pretty. I liked her until she got on stage. There's supposed to be a wall around the fantasy, and once I knew too much about her I couldn't lose myself to that fantasy. I had fun, but every time I see a stripper I think about the real person beneath. Often I can see the drunk frat girl who's crashing. Other times I see the single mom. Porn is easier.

But what I don't get--and one of the reasons I don't watch porn--is that the women in the flicks (even mainstream ones) are so obviously *not* getting off, *not* enjoying themseleves, and frequently very obviously drugged up or in pain or *both.* And IME a lot of guys who watch them are either completely oblivous to this or actually enjoy it.

I completely agree...for the most part, it's disgusting. I always feel guilty when watching it, which is why I tend to stick with the lighter stuff like Playboy and such. The hardcore stuff makes me feel like a perv. And that movie does look interesting, though I wonder if there are instances of egalitarianism in that industry. I doubt it, but if there were I'd feel better about the whole thing. One thing is for sure, I refuse to spend money on porn. except that pirate one. It was good.

Well, there is egalitarianism, but it's largely absent from the mainstream...I'm willing to bet because so much of the mainstream's $$$ does come from mouth-breathers who are turned on by women not enjoying themselves.

I do know there's a Feminist Porn Awards and Bitch (or Bust, can't remember which) magazine runs periodic pieces on awesome porn. Unfortunately being in Japan without a credit card means I can't actually watch any of said porns. ::le sigh::

The lesbian scenes in the pirate one bugged me because of course the women had to slap each other around instead of getting it on, and because I wished there'd been more stuff in it for the ladies. That said, it's still probably one of my favorite porns 'cause it's way better than 90% of the competition and also, it's funny.

Someday i'll look into the Feminist Porn stuff, and feel better about myself (keep it in mind if possible for when you are home, especially if I get the internet). I know i saw a thing on HBO about a strip club that unionized. i thought that was cool and kinda amazing, considering the relative slime levels of the clientele of a place like that. (strip club is a nice term, it was one of those where you put money in and watch the girl through the glass. I forget the term.)

This isn't something I'm likely to research any time soon though.
