akujunkan...with Pahn, and then I really whomped him with my PC.
I enjoyed it so much, in fact, that I preserved a save file so I could go back and get him whenever I wanted.
At the end of the first battle, Pahn asks, "Did I really beat him, or was he just showing mercy?"
To which I laugh bitterly and think, It took me the most expensive armor, two levels and three days of gameplay to whup him - mercy didn't have a whole f'ing lot to do with it.
