But not for me. I moved into my new place this afternoon, and left again just as quickly for my first aikido class.

Which. Was. Awesome. The sensei is a really positive guy, who's completely into teaching both the forms and techniques, and why one would want to use them. There's also a refreshing lack of "Imma kick your ass punk!" martial arts bullshit. (From him at least; one of the other students seems to have a hard on for MA, and can't stop talking about how many he's studied and for how long.)

And best of all (and for the first time in my collegiate MA experience)--so NOT about the money. Class lasts an hour; the sensei had already spent two hours at a dojo and one teaching a yoga class, but he still extended my class by another hour...just because none of us had anywhere we needed to be and we were eager to see/learn more. AWESOME.

I am so glad you found such a great sensei! Enjoy your learning! I have Let's Learn Hiragana and Let's Learn Katakana books as well as a kanji book and a verb and grammar book. Knowledge is power! Can't wait for you to correct my stroke order!

Apparently comments don't post if I send them from my mail account as opposed to the lj site (the mysteries of the uni computer security protocols are myriad.) Anyway, I was dead but am no slightly less so thanks to an extension on a research project from hell. So that's good.

I've been looking for you on AIM, but I doubt you're on during the hours I can get to and use the library computers. (T.T)

oh! speaking of moving... i've moved too. i'm in canada now. so there, im back to step 1 of job hunting again. still trying to decide if i'm going to take post graduate studies too or if im going to do college again and take an entirely different course~

That's awesome, btw. What part of Canada are you in? I hear Toronto and Vancouver are both awesome, and I've always wanted to visit Nova Scotia as well. And right on! If I could stay in the education system forever, I think I would;-)

we're in Toronto~ but not Toronto Toronto. Scarborough, to be specific (up north) but still part of GTA (Greater Toronto Area).
