or American University Needs To Get Its Shit Together.
Because, seriously? I am not. Fucking. Pleased with these people right now.
The email addressed to "Dear [Insert Student Name Here]" was sketchy, but I could deal with it.
The fact that they haven't updated their housing webpage in 1+ years, which means that the links and information on housing are woefully out of date? Also not cool. But it was the AU employee to whom I spoke on the phone who said that the housing division wasn't responsible for updating the page (and whoever's job it is still hasn't), that really synched it for me.
The official school webpage itself has a bunch of broken links. Very not cool. Even less cool is the fact that this is also a problem in official emails I've received. Nothing like trying to register for orientation when the links provided to do so all take you to a 404. I can't email my proffs to ask directly, as only one of them is even listed on the faculty page. Classes start in under a week; they haven't reported what books are needed, nor do I have building and room information for any of my classes.
And about that orientation? I received an email on July 4 saying that they'd send out registration information in the middle of the month. Well, I never got it, so I emailed them on the 15th. Of this month. I received an email back with said information, CCed to everyone in my program. Turns out they forgot to send the information in the first place.
But the best fucking thing is the money. I have in my hand a paper bill stating that I've a positive balance of $400.00, and owe around $2,000. But when I go to the online payment page, I discover that I actually owe $400.00. Or do I? I'm beginning to think that, given the level of ::cough:: professionalism ::cough:: shown by American University and its employees, I might actually be able to get by without paying a goddamn red cent to them--it's well within the realm of possibility that they might not ever even notice.
Seriously. Considering that I'm depending on these people to give me an education and a higher degree, they better get their act together, pronto.
That will be all
