1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.

1) My ideal undergraduate major would have been European Minority Languages. Not wishing to drive my parents to suicide, I settled for East Asian Languages and Cultures/Gender Studies/Classics, with a minor in Eastern European Studies. Still. Dude. I could have learned Basque.

2) I get the same vaguely sexual thrill from textbooks (especially foreign language textbooks with lots of grammar) that most men get from sports cars. I am not ashamed of this.

3) I play the pennywhistle. Shut up; it's cool.

4) I am a compulsive list-maker. Potential lj posts, to-do lists, kanji I remember, songs I own, and of course, books I've owned and/or read. In fact, I've been keeping a list of the latter ever since my sixth grade teacher recommended that the class do it because "You'd be surprised by the number of books you can read in a year."

5) I love singing and always have. When I was a little kid, the owner of my favorite seafood restaurant used to bring me free bowls of cole slaw in order to stop me from singing along with the muzak. They later knocked down that restaurant and built the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame on it. Needless to say, they have never given me free cole slaw.

6) I know all the words to The Princess Bride and can recite them in real time, sans movie.

7) I prefer some British spellings because I can hit the S key faster than the Z key, and this does shave several seconds off of my WPM scores. Consequently, I spend a large amount of time editing Britishisms out of anything I'm typing for official purposes.

Well, yeah, see, you were sitting there looking like you were pining to have a meme dropped on you. Yup, yup. /delusional

I could have learned Basque.

Assuming that anyone can, what's stopping you? From what I've heard, it should only take about 50 years. :D
