akujunkanYesterday, I was sad because an entertainer whom I enjoyed watching had passed away.
Today I found out that not only had he killed himself, he had also assaulted and murdered his wife, waited a day, and then murdered his young child before committing suicide. (He did place bibles by the bodies, apparently. Big help, that.) I am now left feeling disgusted that I was ever saddened by the news of his death in the first place.
I like pro wrestling precisely because it is fake. You have these huge hulking guys and all the outer trappings of violence and aggression, but none of it is real. It's not muay thai--no one's getting their nose punched out through the back of their skull--so I can watch knowing all the while that I'm not enjoying watching someone intentionally hurt another human being.
But in this case the violence and aggression were real, and I'm left with the image of a 200+ pound man tying up his wife before strangling her--something that serial killers do.
That will be all.
