...while my father attended his bagpipe lesson. (No, I'm not kidding and no, don't ask.)

In said Meijier they had several children's books, with such attention-grabbing titles as Jack In Singapore and Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End. And I looked1. And they do appear to tell the story of the movie, right down to the feel good Disney closing line.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but At World's End isn't out in theaters yet, is it? So, wtf, Disney? Are even you acknowledging that it's going to be so bad you see no danger in spoiling uncritical little kids?

1 Mostly because I was looking for pictures of Jack Davenport. But don't tell.

That will be all.

People need lessons to play bagpipes? I thought it'd be easy enough to squeeze a bag so it sounds like a strangled cat1 ;P

Having merchandise available long before the movie hits screens is nothing new. Disney (as does any company involved with merch. tie-ins) care more about getting kids to beg parents for merchandise related to movies they're not old enough to see than to prevent vital information about the story being out for all to see prior to the movie's release.

Oh and this , err, slayed me. *groans at own pun*

PS - how's the writing going? *prods with pointy stick*

1I refuse to acknowledge that I once considered learning to play the bagpipes.

I'm fine with merchandise--happy meals, action figures, bandaids, but holy crap, this is the first time I've ever seen them give the whole show away before it's even opened! I mean, has it leaked onto the Internet or what?

That comic is awesome.

It's happened before. I've seen and bought books for the kids about movies that haven't been released here, including one book for a movie that hadn't been released anywhere, iirc.

Hmm... I notice the complete silence regarding the writing. Do I need to get out the whips? *g*

Which just makes me o.O, because for all the lengths they go to--making test audiences sign confidentiality clauses, bitching and moaning about heightened security around the theater discs, endless discussions of the latest hi-tech studio secrecy measures. And then what do they do? Spoil the world themselves with a kids book.

And I will write! I will! I'm putting the last touches on a translation tonight, and then I'm off.

One of the books we've seen was for a Star Wars new trilogy episode. I clearly remember Peter looking at the ending in the book and me ribbing him for it. Makes you wonder, eh?

Phhfft! You say that now, but I know you'll be distracted by something shiny. [Please let it be the shine off Ikkaku's head, or the beads of sweat on his torso as he writhes against the ropes.]

Whereas I would have ribbed him for looking at the new trilogy episode, period.

You say that now, but I know you'll be distracted by something shiny.

Well, yes. You should read the new HP ficlet I wrote for BA--

Um...excuse me. I need a moment away from the computer...

You're excused. Ikkaku naked and writhing is such a pretty image. And then when Yumichika leans over to lick him... Mmmm....oh yeah.

There's nothing wrong with the new trilogy! How can you not love Darth Maul as the appretnice before Skywalker. All that sexual tention between Maul and Kenobi as they battle it out to retain Skywalker. Skywalker not being all emo, so that he's more emo than his son. How Jar-Jar was beheaded by accident in the opening scenes of the second movie. Mace. Mace being all bad-ass. Well written plot with fantastic dialogue.

Err... maybe that's the movie in my head ;)

Well, yes. You should read the new HP ficlet I wrote for BA--

Well I would - IF IT EXISTED. Proof that you've written will be accepted when I see it on screen. Stop teasing me and post dammit! *G*
