...You really love me!

Guess who was accepted to George Washington University last week!

Why that would be moi, of course:)

And not only that, but they offered me a $6,000 merit scholarship, which is neat-o in and of itself, but even moreso considering the fact that I applied a month after the merit scholarship deadline was over.

So, there has been much rejoicing in the AJK family recently. Or at least among mes parents. I've been kind of low level depressed since I got the letter: now I have to make a choice, and that means there's going to be an option I won't end up picking. Happens every time a choice is involved.

American University has dual masters degree programs in Japan and Korea. George Washington only has study abroad opportunities, but they gave me a scholarship, and several members of the faculty have already sent me personal(ised?) emails. And if I went there, I might be able to enroll in a class taught by MSNBC's own Jonathan Turley. あぁ、迷っているわ(涙)

But that's not important in the long run, because BZOMG GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY WANTS ME!

That will be all.

Actually, you can. It might not get you anything, but if you would definitely choose American if they were offering more money, it doesn't hurt to make a call to the school and let them know that you have another offer on the table. The worst they can do is wish you luck in making your decision!

And congratulations!!! Choices are always painful, but it's nice to have them.

hey, that's true.

i didn't know about a scholarship/tuition reimbursement until may-ish...i think. maybe AU will offer something when they have a better idea how many students will attend..and if you prod them about it.

plus, you can always attend turley's class and transfer credits. i'm pretty sure GW is down the street (although DC traffic always makes things difficult).

me->totally pimping AU ^_^

Ooh, that's good to know, because I was really leaning toward AU anyway, but honestly don't know if I could pay for all of it out of pocket. But ah! The choices!

And there you were, worried you wouldn't get a single acceptance. Silly you :) Congratulations! (I take it by your amount of squee that GWU is a top university.)

GWU and AU both are. And I still maintain that there must be something in the DC water for them to accept me, but hey, I ain't complaining!
