Life Is A Cruel Joke.
Mar. 14th, 2007 08:37 amI have spent close to four hours online today, adding books to LibraryThing and BookMooch. I left home for 25 minutes to go get some take-out. In that mere 25 minutes, a wishlist request came through, and was gone. What are the odds?
That will be all.
That will be all.

on 2007-03-16 02:08 am (UTC)LibraryThing is hardcore love. Although for some reason, my watchlist was erased a few months ago. What's your nick again so I can re-add you?
And finally, "this bookmooch" is TEH LOVE. I am here (http://www.bookmooch.com/m/bio/gmorrison). Go check it out, and enter the addiction like I have.

Also, librarything - stubbed_toe. I changed my username to more easily reflect who I am. A stubbed toe. XD
So bookmooch is a thing where you can exchange books by post, right? And you can then borrow books without having to buy them? Who pays for postage in each case?

on 2007-03-16 06:41 pm (UTC)Hee! Awesome LT name.
And finally, that's not *quite* how BookMooch works. You do exchange books via post, but once you mooch one, it's yours. (Conversely, you don't get any books you send to someone else back.) You pay to send them out, but you pay nothing to get them sent to you (a good setup for someone like me who requests more books than I give up;) )
You'd easily be able to get your money's worth out of it, as you get 3 book credits every time you send a book overseas. This is how I managed to get so many points--I'm not afraid of the postage and I like the idea of my old books ending up in Bosnia or the Congo.
