Life Is Good.
Dec. 31st, 2006 05:53 amBecause I just registered to take Conversational Chinese and Conversational Burmese through IPFW. I am now closer to my goal of having the three East Asian languages and one or more of the Southeast Asian languages under my belt. (Governments and Foreign Policy Thinktanks of the World, hire me!)
In other news, a bald eagle landed in the tree by the lake a few days ago. It was the first one I'd seen outside of a zoo. Man, do those birds have presence.
That will be all.

on 2007-01-04 05:05 am (UTC)Chinese is scary, and I'm probably not going to learn all that much in 20 hours (or however long the course is), but it's a start. I think that you're doing things the smart way, by realising limitations at the outset;)

on 2006-12-30 11:41 pm (UTC)And congrats on surviving the GRE. That's such an annoying test. They took out the only fun part, which was the logic section.

on 2007-01-04 05:07 am (UTC)I'm actually glad they took out the logic section, which terrified me in its original incarnation, and replaced it with the logic-via-written argument section, which plays to my strengths. I am, however, happy to have taken the test prior to its next incarnation, which won't.

That reminded me of Lisa Simpson... you remind me of Lisa in the fact you both love books and that you are not easily fooled.
As I told you before, congratulations!
