Go, Go Gadget Geminids!
Dec. 14th, 2006 02:13 pmI've just returned from 45 minutes outside observing the Geminid meteor shower. I probably saw a good 30 or so meteors, all together, 15 of them faint or out of the corners of my eyes, and they other 15 or so beautifully large and bright. It's really supposed to pick up in another 45 minutes, so you can bet I'll be back out there for that.
It's the second coolest celestial event I've witnessed thus far, behind only the giant green fireball I saw descending over the lake last month.
That will be all.
ETA: Fifty-nine meteors and one fireball with trail from 1:00-2:00 am. Good stuff.
