Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. After, post this in your journal, and give out some letters of your own. Let me know if you want a letter.
amasugiru gave me L.
1) Lyra Belacqua
She's one of the main characters in Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, and if you didn't know that, you need to read those books NOW. I just love her character: she's so layered and wonderfully quirky and human.
2) Lab 4
The best aggro dj/pr act, hands down. I will sorely miss them, and weep and weep that I never managed to see them live.
3) Leftfield - Rhythm and Stealth
Or just Leftfield in general, but especially this album. I know it's not the fan favorite, but as the LP which brought us Phat Planet, Afrika Shox, and Dub Gusset, it is far superior to Leftism.
4) Latin
The first foreign language I formally studied, it is both awesome in its own right and an excellent way to prepare to study any other language, related or not.
5) Lunasa
One of the coolest contemporary IrTrad acts out there today. They take a lot of flack for their orchestration of traditional stuff, but I happen to think The Merry Sisters of Fate is one of the best CDs out there, hands down.
6) Lemon Verbena
One of my all time favorite herbs, it's a beautiful plant with heavenly lemon-scented leaves. It is also, alas, deciduous, which means my mother never failed to pitch all of my potted verbenas out during the winter months.
7) Laos
Easily the coolest country there is.
8) Lloyd Alexander
Author of the Prydain Chronicles, which are five books that changed my life (and I am not exaggerating). He's wonderful. They're wonderful. Go read.
9) Lulu
From FFX. I have such a girl!crush on her.
The Lindisfarne Gospels
Most people consider The Book of Kells to be the apogee of insular Celtic artwork, but I think the Lindisfarne Gospels are much more beautiful. I learned most of my knots from my facsimile copy.
That will be all.
