So, I'm taking the GRE soon. You know, the one that you have to shell out $160 a go for? The one that's going to grade my writing ability on the strength of two essays written on a dark ages word processing program in adverse conditions in a little over an hour.

You know, the $160 test that's going to definitively test my writing abilities and will play no small part in determining whether or not I'm accepted to graduate school?

Luckily, they post the entire pool of potential essay topics online. One of them is:

"The true strength of a country is best demonstrated by the willingness of its government to tolerate challenges from it's own citizens."

Wow, it's great to know that the people on whose good graces my academic future rests have such a good grasp of basic grammar.

UGH.

Don't worry. You'll essentially ace it if you are at all competent at test-taking. This is the basic GRE, right? Yeah. You'll be FINE. I took that shit in college, it's a piece of cake.

Thanks for the confidence booster! I'm just a little worried because I only have one chance to take it before my app is due, so I can't mess up. UGH indeed.
