Buddhism is Cool
Apr. 22nd, 2005 11:29 amChina draws steadily closer. I cannot wait. I do hope that the embassy gets cracking on my passport, as I will need it back by Wednesday of next week. Cross your fingers for me.
I had a most wonderful site in my bookmarks, which listed all of the temples and shrines in Kyoto (which I begin to suspect I love as much as Nagoya). It was such a lovely site for temple nuts like me, who like to go to the really damn obscure places as well as the big ones. My bookmarks were lost, but I managed through perserverance and elbow grease, to find the site again. It is here. It's part of Kyoto city's official English language tourism site. I'd actually found it several times, but not recognised it for what it was, because you have to trick it into giving you the list of all the temples and shrines.
Anyway, it's worth a look for anyone who's a history or Buddhism buff. If I have time later today, I'll go through and pick out some links to my favorite tiny shrines and temples.
That will be all.
