Ah, the joys of being an ESL teacher are literally without number. (The above engrish was taken from a speech on the origins of judo, of all things.)
I caused a great deal of gender confusion during a recent shopping trip to Saty. "あの人...女?" a seven-year-oldish girl enquired of her mother as I passed. Because shortish hair, a nose ring, blue jeans and a fitted, button down t-shirt is apparently the equivalent of gender ambiguity to the Japanese. I love this country.
Spent another weekend in the mountains - Friday night on 二上 with Charlie, Yuuta, Keisukei, and Masa, and Saturday night on いさるぎ with - you guessed it - Charlie, Yuuta, Keisuke, and Masa.
The visibility was about 1.5 feet in all directions, thanks to the fog. So we pile out of the car, and guess what we find - a sign that says "Bat Cave - This Way." None of the boys wanted to go (because they're wussies) but I was gonna be damned if I didn't walk through 40' trees and fog to see the bat cave. And I did. And the wussies followed. I have pretty darn good night vision, so we made it about 200m on this muddy little path until a rockslide and river obscured it. I was all for jumping across, but no one else was, so we went home.
All in all, a good weekend.
Oh, and this PS2 now owns my soul. Dammit. I knew this would happen.
That will be all.
