...of welding.
Yes. You heard me. Those of you who know me well will know that one of my secret dreams was to weld something. Welding is sexy. The face mask. The leather apron. The big gloves. And at last, I have welded! It was totally kickass, and much more difficult than it looks.
I've been slowly working my way back through Devil May Cry. I like whomping those marionettes too damn much. It probably isn't healthy. It also slows me down because I usually just replay and replay the first few missions and don't concentrate on finishing the damn game.
I've got a crapload of manga to read and dammit, the newest Zero Sum is out but I won't let myself buy it until I read most of the previous three I've purchased. May pretty visions of Sanzou compel me to read faster.
Wolfwood on the cover of the newest YKO. And it's only 380 yen. Dammit. I will not buy.
I've befriended three of the underdog girls in my school. They are the sweetest things ever. I just adore them. We trade purikora every day, and one of them has been writing me letters. She's the one who follows me around school but never talks to me. Today, she finally did talk to me a little. Turns out she has a speech impediment and can't really talk. But she's adorable. I love her to death.
Yesterday I ate 36 gyoza in one sitting. I couldn't fucking stop. When I ran out, I got up and cooked some more. I think this beats the record of 22 plates of sushi (which I consumed in Osaka with
amasugiru).
Realised the #1 thing that really pissed me off about Kill Bill. Only two of the "Japanese" in the movie really were...you guessed it...Japanese. (Hattori Hanzou and Sophie (who is actually half-Japanese, half-French)). Lucy Liu? Not Japanese. The Crazy 88? All from China. KB suffers from AYALTSTM (All-You-Asians-Look-The-Same-To-Me) Syndrome. (Anyone remember discussing this in Julie's lectures?).
It's ridiculous to make a movie hommage to Japanese samurai flicks, dedicate it to a Japanese filmmaker and then cast it with non-Japanese.
I like Radiohead more and more as time goes on - the opposite of most people I meet. Pablo Honey? Despise that album. The Bends? No thanks. OK Computer? Nope. Kid A? Now we're getting somewhere. Amnesiac? Hell yeah. And the most recent album? I lurv it. It's total fall music, which is probably why I listen to it a whole lot more than I did when it first came out.
That will be all.
