Fucking Unbelievable.
Aug. 23rd, 2006 11:40 amFucking unbelievable. FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE
ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY UNBELIEVABLE
I have a deadline coming up. I have been working on the translation for the past two weeks. It's difficult to translate in Korean Internet Cafes, which unlike their Japanese counterparts, do not give users private cubicles. This means that I have to be uber-careful, because anyone could potentially look at what I'm transing.
Praise the heavens, I finally finished the translation last night. Archived it on my portable USB drive and in two different email addresses.
Opened it up today to discover that only the first paragraph out of 250+ pages of size 10 font remained. The copies archived in email? Wingdings.
I was within two pages of finishing it again today after eight hours at the Internet Cafe when the power went out. That's right. The power went out in the ENTIRE BUILDING HOUSING THE INTERNET CAFE WHERE I WAS FINISHING MY TRANSLATION IS.
You might also be interested to know that the Internet Cafes in this country? Do not have MSOffice installed on their computers which means that my notepaded translation was not autosaved.
I mean, seriously, what are the odds?
That will be all.
PS: I still have to access lj through proxy servers, and I can't read the flist at all.
