Americuh, Fuck Yeah!
Jul. 4th, 2006 10:55 pmAnd that's just what I did for three hours this evening. Kicked the fourth off early with a rather block party-esque barbecue before hopping one town over for some fried chicken and crazy colored-gunpowder action. Seriously, we must have spent $100 on these fireworks, and let's just say that the Japanese do not have restrictions on what sorts of fireworks can be purchased for personal use. We had some pretty good (and big) ones going off up, down and sideways.
I haven't gotten this stupid with fireworks since freshman year of college, so it was great fun. Highlights included Dan falling backwards off a seawall with a lit firework, Dan and Josh tag-teaming a third friend with an (accidental?) barrage of misfired blasters, Luis nearly shooting my feet off with a rogue bottle rocket, and Josh setting me on fire not once, but twice, with bottle rockets fired into the wind. (And I have the holes in my Souixsie and the Banshees shirt and birkenstocks to prove it.)
We also set off a variety of sparklers, screamers, ninja stars, and roman candles. All in all, an excellent night.
That will be all.

Sounds like you had a blast ;)
