For the love of all that is holy...
Aug. 17th, 2005 11:53 am...can one of you kind souls pleeeease give me directions on how to turn the autofuckupformat function of microsucksoft word 2000 off? I have to retype large portions of my ESL research paper translation because microsucksoft autofuckupformatted it when I wasn't looking. Serves me right for being a touch typist, I guess.
ETA: I'd do it myself (and egads, how I've tried), but I have no idea what autofuckupformat is called in Japanese, and thus no idea what option I'm trying to unselect in the first place.
That will be all.

on 2005-08-17 03:30 am (UTC)...not sure that switching to another version of Windows hell is any better though.
I'm not having much trouble with Office 2003, though... EVEN HAS A BUTTON THAT TAKES OUT ALL OFFICE FORMATTING OH THANK YOU BABY JESUS.

on 2005-08-17 07:45 am (UTC)You can get to the exact same autoformat settings by two different routes on the menu bar, A or B.
A. Autoformat 1
1. On the menu bar, select Format | Autoformat | Options (button)
2. Click the tab you want to select it.
* Autoformat As You Type <-- uncheck all the ones you don't want
* Autoformat <-- uncheck all the ones you don't want
* AutoCorrect <-- disable the ones you don't want
OR:
B. Autoformat 2
1. On the menu bar, click Tools | Autocorrect Options.
2. Click the tab you want.
EXTRA:
C. Program options
1. On the menu bar, click Tools | Options.
2. Select the tab you want, such as Asian Typography
A couple of things you might want to do while you're at it:
* Spelling & Grammar (tab) <-- turn off "grammar checker" ('cause it's annoying)
* Save (tab) <-- turn off "allow fast saves" (So-called fast saves has always been a known issue for this program in all versions.)
