That I've been having trouble with my computer. today it decided to wipe my drive clean. Goodbye to all my audio and video files, and every single fucking picture I've taken since moving to Japan. fucki this thing. I don't know why I haven't chucked it out the window already.

Nooooooo! That's awful! I really hope there's some way the data can be recovered? Losing pictures would be the worst. T_T

::hugs:: The vibes worked! I can still get at the photos, just not from the computer itself. (Why? Who knows...) I was so frantic - all my China pictures, every picture of my students (and I only have two days left at my school), the temples I've visited...it was like having my house burn down.

Yayyy! I'm so glad. Now backup everything on that hard drive... six times. ^_~

(Not on the same scale of computer disaster, but I recently got severe data corruption in my contains-every-detail-of-my-financial-life Quicken file, and before I figured out what was going on I'd managed to spread the corruption to four or five of my most recent backups. I ended up with a backup that was about a month old. Never been so grateful for MULTIPLE backups. Yeesh.)
