I recently discovered this gem while trawling the NHK textbook section of my local bookstore. Never before have I seen any which so completely embodies the English Language Teacher in Japan-- nay, the entirety of the Foreigner in Japan experience. Please keep in mind that this is an actual English textbook.

Study Abroad without ever leaving home. Our campus Study Abroad Director would just love that.

Yup, you've got it - this is one of the fabled NHK books (which is how I discovered it, btw), which are all based around radio or television shows. Not that I know because I drop money on the things like they were going out of style, oh no... Although, a less ambiguous English translation would probably word it "Study Abroad Via/Through Your TV!" In any case, I think students' parents would be very happy to hear that that's possible.
