I bought my tickets to China today! I absolutely cannot wait to go there - we're planning on Shanghai, Beijin, Xi'an, and the Three Gorges. I'm traveling with a great group of people, and it's going to rock unbelievably hard.
That said, I feel kinda sad about it in a way as well. International travel is insanely easy and inexpensive from Japan, and I've gone loads of places since I've come here. I wish my parents could go to these places as well. Travel for me from Japan is a given, with round trip tickets to anywhere seldom costing over $500 (although the train tickets to and from my hamlet usually double that price in the end), and it's difficult to realise that fifty years ago, most people couldn't make it to Europe easily, let alone Asia. While traveling with my family is usually equal parts stress and fun (which makes traveling with friends preferable in many instances ^.^), I wish the had the opportunity to see all these places as well, because I feel bad talking about them otherwise.
That will be all.
