It's not so much LJ is dead as it is that fandom went off in every which direction; some stayed here, some moved to Dreamwidth, some to Twitter and some are living on Tumblr. On the blogs I've noticed a considerable downturn in content1, but once the shiny of Tumblr fades & it's lack of ability to have a conversation on it has worn thin, people will drift back. Also it seems that the most popular fandom these days (based on what the majority of my once multi-fannish f-list now posts about) is Teen Wolf. I have no interest in it, regardless of how slashy it is.
