Saturday 26th's picture was of of:

the Kamogawa (literally Duck River), and the mountains that ring the city to the north. The Kamogawa the most important river in Kyoto, as it connects the eastern temple district with the rest of the city, is bordered by two geisha districts and several important shopping and entertainment areas. Several of the bridges that span it are important tourist sites in their own rights.
I took this photograph at around four pm on a rainy afternoon so there weren't many people about, but on sunny days and weekends the shores are packed with people biking, jogging, drinking beers (no open container laws in Japan!), reading, or otherwise enjoying this scant amount of nature in an otherwise concrete jungle.
Kamogawa is one of the few places in Kyoto where one can observe butterflies and birdlife.
That will be all.
