So, the landparents have left me alone in the Subterranean Fastness for a month while they visit relatives. Far from being freaked out, I rather like being alone. I haven't journeyed much to the Upper Levels, but it is nice to be able to sing at the top of my lungs whenever the mood strikes and do laundry late into the night. Besides, I was told neighbors would keep an eye on the house too, so there was nothing to worry about.
I woke up this morning, exhausted from completing my last final, to the sound of heavy boots tramping about and at least two male voices. A large white conversion van was parked in the drive outside. The voices continued to tromp about for three hours, accompanied by the sound of doors slamming left and right, furniture being moved, sawing, and most disconcerting of all, loud R&B. I think the voices also watched TV at some point.
I find this disturbing for several reasons:
I've called my parents and alerted several friends to the situation, as well as played loud music and bumped about in the kitchen to let whoever's upstairs know that I am here (although I am reluctant to go up and confront them).
I would really like a shower but am not about to get naked with strange males in the house. I also need to go to the uni library to type up my Korean midterm, but do not want to abandon all my electronics, hardware, and documents when the sounds eminating from above lead me to believe that some snooping about has gone on upstairs.
And so the stalemate continues. What a way to spend my first free day.
That will be all.

I find this disturbing for several reasons:
- I was not informed that anyone aside from the previously-mentioned neighbors would be in the house
- Even I can tell that this house is astoundingly ill-secured and could be discreetly broken into in a matter of minutes
- The landparents did not leave me their contact info, despite previous assurances to the contrary
- It is impossible to lock the doors of my fastness that lead into the interior of the house, and
- The voices have been here for going on four hours and show no signs of imminent departure.
