Quoting a Yahoo!News story:

"I know that some of my decisions have led to terrible loss — and not one of those decisions has been taken lightly," Bush declared in a televised speech to the nation Sunday, his first from the Oval Office since announcing the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.


As ever, I can't tell if this guy is a hopeless idiot mangling his speeches, or if his speechwriters are much smarter than the average bear. Let's take a look at this language - not one of his decisions [concerning the Iraq war] has been taken lightly." Oh, I'm sure. I don't take any of the decisions he's made over there lightly. Neither do most liberals. Neither, I'm sure, do the people who've lost family in said conflict. The question yet remains, however, as to whether Bush made those decisions lightly. Did he?

The language of the speech doesn't say. It avoids the question entirely while trying to pretend (to the unengaged listener) that it has.

Either that, or Bush has just once again proudly displayed his utter lack of command of the English language.
