More evidence that Lady Gaga is all show...

...and little substance. From today's WaPo:
Lady Gaga is asking a London ice cream parlor to stop selling "Baby Gaga," an ice cream made with human breast milk. The shop sold out of the flavor (pasteurized and mixed with vanilla pods and lemon zest; a serving sells for the American equivalent of $22.50) when it was introduced last week, but government officials confiscated the double-scoop treat over health concerns. Now Gaga is weighing in: Lawyers for the pop superstar contacted the owner and gave him until Wednesday to change the name or face trademark infringement, reports Britain's Evening Standard. The lawyers call the ice cream "deliberately provocative and, to many people, nausea-inducing." Shop owner Matt O'Connor said he's prepared to fight: 'Since the dawn of time the word 'gaga' has been one of the first discernible phrases to come from a baby's mouth. This is why we chose the name."

Leaving aside the less-than-awesome editing on the article (22.50 USD is the "American equivalent" of 22.50 USD), I find it...unconvincing, shall we say, that this woman is worried about being associated with something "many people" might find "deliberately provocative," if perhaps more Madonna flashback-inducing than nausea-inducing

Come on, Gaga, admit it: You're just pissed you didn't think of it first.

That will be all.

When this story first broke, I LOL'd so hard at Gaga. She can claim copyright all she wants, but you cannot copywrite a common word. She's a one note performer with a very clever marketing department.

Dear Lady Gaga,

Queen called. They will be contacting you to request that you cease and desist your trademark infringement re: their hit song "Radio Gaga" as soon as Freddy Mercury stops rolling in his grave.

Yes indeed.

There's a number of recent "music performers" who have very little in the way of talent, yet somehow they have collectively managed to get signed up, do collaborations with each other as well as better know performers. One of the least talented of this group is Kei$ha - people are so easily suckered in by a drum machine & a good auto-tuner.

I am sick to death of studio collaborations for songs being pumped out. Some of these collaborations make no sense other than the artists in question work for the same label. So any song I like & discover it has a [artist] featuring [artist] tag, I refuse to buy. Wouldn't even bother to pirate it either, because I cannot for a second believe the performer(s) are doing a joint project for the love of the craft.

Why yes, I have a few opinions about the current state of the music industry.... :)

I find this kind of things sad, the talent, whatever quantity or quality she has, is being used/focused on the wrong things.
Soon you'll not be free to use her 'original' name just because she will think you are stealing her tasteless soul.
Now if you excuse me, I need gay porn to wash the mental image of her meat dress; I think I saw a shizaya dj somewhere....

The hypocrisy bugs me not only because she has built her entire claim to fame on being outrageous and controversial, but because "Lady Gaga" itself is a play on Queen's "Radio Gaga," just like "Baby Gaga" is a play on her stage name.

Sorry for being late...

The first thing I thought when I heard about Lady Gaga was "All we hear is radio gaga... gaga says the baby lol"

What do you want baby?
a) pron in general? of any kind? of certain series?
If so then I have bad news... the only rec I can give you is one PWP hardcore yaoi series about a guy who buys online stuff only to see the deliver man and have reaaaally wiiiiild sexual fantasies I can't remember the title it was something along the lines of Oku's fantasies or something made laugh poor thing ;_;
I have been trying to find a new series besides Bleach (too slow) and Durarara (the author is an idiot period); Magi the Labyrinth of magic is something promising but none of them are ghei... I am still watching Level E you can say I love trolls

b) If it is anything about Durarara!! er... I can only rec dj: Play tunes by Inumog is the equivalent of Taikatsu by Balgus REC (I mean one of the few ones where you see Izaya being trolled by Shizuo, that in my book is great and the pron makes it better) other circles Patarongecar, world box, DEUTZ, Sabi aah send me a PM if you want to check them.
Despair! I have written like this were my blog!! sorry!

a) I will definitely look for that yaoi PWP, because it sounds cute and wonderful. Level E has been popping up on my flist quite a bit, but I am watching more Japanese news these days than following manga or even dramas, alas. I wish I was back in Japan, because it was so easy...I could just walk across the street and buy the latest manga:-(

b) I do not know what Durarara is.

c) Do you know 1) When Silver Spoon comes out and 2) Where I can get raws. I want my new Arakawa fix...precious.
