This is one of the creepiest things...

...I have heard of in a long time. Linked from Alternet because The Nation's URL might change.

But seriously: women your job is to pump out kids and even Vatican Roulette is cheating?

That is creepy.

That will be all.

Holy shit, the heathens need to retaliate with litters of their own. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT! Woot!

And ironically enough, third world heathens can, thanks to Bush's disasterous reinstatement of the global gag rule (http://www.globalgagrule.org/).

Somehow reminds me of that vido clip (which I can't remember of course) where there was this woman-like machine giving birth children every second... I feel insulted I thought that numbers didn't matter but faith... I feel cheated

The idea that I or any woman's primary purpose to to birth endless babies is just terrifying to me. And honestly, would god want people to give birth to children they don't have the resources to adequately feed, clothe, or educate?

Well, there's your problem - a total lack of faith that god will provide. It's taking just wee little bit longer this time to make the manna ;)

I'm horrified that women can be convinced it's a good idea to have that many children.

And I'm extra special horrified at the men who think that keeping their wife knocked up is the best thing in the world.

That part doesn't surprise me. Why would they think any differently? Men are completely unable to comprehend what it's like to have a period, let alone the stress to the body done by pregnancy &/or childbirth.

Think about all the things women go through for birth control and gynaecological related procedures, and then compare the reaction of most men* when you suggest they be responsible for birth control - Oh no, you're not cutting into my testes. Sickening.

*this includes the men who are willing to have a vasectomy.
