So this afternoon, on the way home from 三条...
...I signed a petition and wrote a one-page letter to be faxed to (still-)President Bush expressing my dismay at U.S. inaction concerning the current situation in Gaza. And this isn't just some anonymous Internet petition thing--I wrote that fucker: it contains my full name, occupation, and address.
The main reason I did it? Because the first two times I passed by the protestors, I thought Man, I'd like to sign that, but if I do, there go my chances for the Foreign Service. And then I realised that just the fact that normal people would even think something like that in the face of this catastrophe is one of the reasons why it's still continuing.
