my kotatsu!
So what, you're surely saying. It's just a big heap of blankets.
Au contraire! A kotatsu is actually a low table with a quilt over it, because underneath the table is an electric fan heater, and it is heavenly. Seriously, I've spent entire days underneath this thing.
This particular kotatsu is family-sized, which means I can lie down beneath it and nap, or have room enough to use my computer and write in a notebook all at the same time. I got it for hella cheap during a national holiday sale, and lugged the fucker home all by myself, terrifying Japanese onlookers in the process.
